All the brains from all species are formed primarily of two types of cells: neurons a glia cells  these are the 2 types of cells that the brain is composed.

The glia cells are there in several types and perform a really critical number of functions such as structural support , the metabolic support, the insulation, and the guidance of development. But any way the more important cells consider in the brain are the neurons.

What makes the neurons really important for the brain and unique is that they are abale

To send signals to other cells on very long distances. These signals are send by an axon, and this axon is a thin  protoplasmic fiber and this fiber extend really long this extend from the cell body and project, with numerous branches to one to another area some times this distances are near but other times this distances are really long these distances could be from other parts of the brain or even from other parts of the body.

An axon with his length can be extraordinary if the cerebral cortex is magnified by a microscope and become the size of the human body and the axon equally magnified this axon will becomes a  cable of few centimeters in his diameter, but extending a lot very long this axon extending more than a kilometer.
